How to Test If Your Honey is Original, Quality or It Contain Water.

Honey is produced by honey bees in a hive or comb from the nectar of plants and other natural raw materials.

It is rich in nutrients and many people use it for medicinal purposes.

And original and quality honey without water can last for so many numbers of years without getting spoiled.

Many people buy honey and get home to realise that it is either diluted with water or sometimes it is not honey but burnt sugar.

There are some tricks to knowing if the honey that you are buying is a good, original, and quality one or if it is diluted or burnt sugar.

This is what to do before you send your honey home;

• Get a match stick
• Dip it into the honey for some time and remove it.
• After you remove it, try to light the match stick that you had dipped into the honey.
• If the honey is the correct one the match stick will light without a problem
• But if the honey you are buying is not corrected, the match stick will not light.

But don’t worry if where you are you cannot get a match stick, this is what you should do;

• Drop a few of the honey on the ground
• If it is correct honey, it will form small circles on the ground
• But if it is not a good honey maybe diluted with water, it won’t form the circle but rather spread slowly like water.

Now in the case where you have already bought your honey but want to test if it is quality and original honey without dilution, this other method can help you.

• Put your honey into your freezer
• Allow it for about 24 hours at least and observe what happens
• If the honey freeze, then it is a diluted honey and so it contains water. But note that the degree of freezing depends on the amount of water content in the honey.
• If after 24 hours your honey is just slightly frozen then the water content in your honey is just a little.
• But a total freeze honey after 24 hours means your honey contains a lot of water.
• Now if your honey is pure honey without water, quality, and original it will not freeze when you place it into the freeze.

The danger when your honey is not pure is that it will not last long and may as well not serve its purpose well especially if you are using it for medicinal purposes.

Do not also purchase honey that is carried into a container under the hot sun, most times those type of honey are not good, they are mostly burnt sugar.
