- Get your ash from burnt wood or charcoal.
- Sieve the ash to remove all charcoal and wood particles from it.
- Get a box, put the box in a cool dry place, and spread the ash at the bottom evenly.
- Now spread your fresh tomatoes on the ash in the box.
- After the tomatoes are spread in the box, add more ash to cover the fresh tomatoes fully.
- Close the box and there you are, your fresh tomatoes can be preserved after harvest for about six months to prevent post-harvest loss.
- You can also use this method to store your fresh tomatoes at home during the season when they are not expensive.
